Reset the Reset

I haven't posted a Sunday Reset since April, that's because May was... a lot.

Another Mother's Day without mom (but my boys did celebrate me). Mom's birthday, second one without her. AJ's prom. AJ's graduation. Caleel’s 13th. School activities. Life!!!! And then, just when I thought I had enough on my plate, the engine in my car decided it had its own plans. Mind you, I had only had the car for a year.

May was hard. Tried to take me out hard!

My last Sunday Reset talked about trusting God and letting Him lead. Was May a test to see if I could walk the walk that I talked?

Normally, I would have jumped into fix-it mode. Push harder. Do more. Figure it out. Make a plan. Force a solution. But this time, I did something different. I gave myself GRACE in whatever my day brought. I literally entered my day saying “okay God, what we doing today?”

I listened to my body, probably a little more than I should have. I listened to my emotions. I paid attention to what I had the capacity for and what I didn't.

And what I kept hearing was: slow down. Not because I was giving up or being lazy. But because sometimes the most faithful thing to do is stop trying to carry everything yourself and trust that God is already working it out. Pause, pray, and listen is not a joke!

The situations didn't magically disappear. The responsibilities didn't stop. But I stopped expecting myself to be superhuman. There is no “S” branded across my chest.

Sometimes life is life-ing, and the priority isn't doing more. The priority is doing what matters most and letting the rest wait. May Sundays came and I had to decide in my personal Sunday reset if I had it in me to write a reset. And every Sunday I had to save that last little bit of energy for me.

So, I’m back. Never stopped writing, journaling, booking. But back to my Sunday Reset.

A reminder that grace isn't just for other people—it's for us too. 💛

As we step into this new week, check in with yourself.

What is your body telling you? What are your emotions telling you? What actually needs your attention right now?

And what can you place at God's feet? He invites us to take up His yoke because it’s lighter than our own.

Have a beautiful second week of June. One step, one prayer, and one day at a time.
